The Mission of World Academy
To nurture and enhance the development of the ‘whole’* child from birth through grade 8 through effective, high quality, comprehensive, seamless and respectful 21st century experiences, while supporting and enriching the whole family.

From the earliest ages through Eighth Grade, a World Academy education expands students’ interests in a variety of subjects from art and music through Engineering and Science, while continually developing core skills that best prepare our students for the future. Determining and addressing each student’s particular needs and strengths through Individualized Student Plans, guiding them through relevant coursework that lends useful experience to their future, and offering a broadened scope of enrichment opportunities that are both driven by student interest and lay beyond the traditional academic standard, is a thoughtfully planned approach to the education students today need and deserve. It’s an education that prepares World Academy students for both personal happiness and success by teaching through experiences and strengthening a student’s personal motivation. Students at World Academy have interests, abilities and skills as varied as their unique personalities. There is no telling how far these influences will take the World Academy graduates, but whatever path they choose from here, they go confidently and well prepared toward that future.
The school’s curriculum is strong in core competencies, such as Language Arts & Literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies and students are directly invested in their own education through their own inquiry, interests and motivation. Our students gain understanding of the subject matter taught here through collaboration with their peers, their teachers, the community and the whole world around them. Communication, critical thinking and problem solving are continuously supported throughout World Academy, giving our students at every level the edge they need to become contributing, successful citizens in their global futures. Music Education, Physical Education, the Arts, World Languages and the ever evolving special offerings enhance the core curriculum and stretch the development of each student’s unique interests, abilities and passions. Similar to the core curriculum and enrichment classes, electives and extracurricular opportunities are always progressing. Our sports teams, karate and dance classes, Engineering Design Challenge, Visual Arts Printmaking, Lego League, among other options, are all born of current research into brain studies and desired competencies. Opportunities to engage in personal, yet collaborative, learning and broaden horizons exist here both in and outside of the classroom.
